Praetor
best two speed test websites websites i have found 1. SpeedOf.Me is an HTML5 Internet speed test. No Flash or Java needed! It is the smartest and most accurate online bandwidth test. 2. http://testmy.net Simple, to make sure you're getting what you pay for. This speed test is useful if you feel a connection slow down or want to see how your Internet is performing. This isn't like any other broadband speed test. TestMy's proprietary method is proven to help identify issues other speed tests fail to detect. The TMN Speed Test shows your true speed. i've tested the first one since it's HTML5, but i found to be very inaugurate. I think the problem is the fact that the test server is unknown, so it could be sending packets all around the world... Dunno about the second. GotBored
I never got the idea on caps..what do they win with it? Nothing, they already overcharge you as it is. I think its just to get more money with sub-divided plans and also to decrease their load so they can continue to overcharge you and not have to worry about upgrading their networks. Update; Got home back to Melbourne finally and did a speed test.. I guess I was wrong about the upload speed its pretty bad or maybe my ISP is just having a bad upload day. LaP
Price of internet here is ridiculous. I pay around 70$ (taxes included) a month for 25mbps and a 150Gb cap. The cap of the lower less expensive package is too low for my usage.
Tews
I pay $70.00 per month for a 90/10 link, so I cant complain too much I suppose ...

compl3x
I'm in the N-E suburbs and I typically get 70-80mbps downloads on speedtest on optus cable. upload is probably around 10mbps though. This is on the 100mbps 500gb plan @ $110/month (includes unlimited phone plan and some digital tv channels I think) Fiber is connected up in my area, but they lock the speed at 100mbps which is what I already have anyway and it's more expensive for the data allowances so no point in changing for me. Optus cable isn't available in my area. I've been trying to get in contact with my ISP to deal with the crackling & drop outs but I keep getting ###### message about high volumes of calls and to call back later. This has been like 4 or 5 days straight. Add in the fact that Telstra workers were in the pits across from my house and I think they made the issue even worse. I went out to speak to them, after I started getting calls from someone trying to reach a completely different number, and they swore they'd fix it and check before they left at the end of the day. They did neither.
TDT
10$/month for this :) And there are higher options, also very cheap (18$/month for 1000Mbps down/100Mbps up), I just don't need bigger speed right now. I'm proud to say that we're on the top countries regarding internet speed and prices :D People are hungry, but at least they can fap without buffering
