Hey guys, I have a friends computer which is an HP Probook 6570b. The left most mouse button near the track pad popped loose and the white clips came with it. I am having a hard time reinstalling this key so the left click for the mouse will work, I tried searching google and youtube for any sort of image or video showing the correct orientation of the clips to get the button back on with no luck. Has anyone ever done repair work on one of these laptops, or similar, that could offer some advice? I really hate working with single keys that have come off, especially those with the two little white clips. I think maybe +warwagon has worked on these at one time? I cant remember.

Have worked on many of them in the past but I've not seen one where the mouse button has come off the Synaptics assembly before. If there's any plastic housing clips broken though, it will never stay on.

Some photos of what you're currently working with? Sometimes the assemblies are quite cheap on eBay depending on how common yours is. There will be a part number on it or you can look it up in the guide for that model (enterprise class HP devices should have a part breakdown section in the product guide to order replacements).

The clips all look to be in good condition, I didn't notice any that were broken. Here are three images (from a cell phone) I hope they are clear enough.

FYI the design of these are terrible and the same as their keyboard keys (which suffer the same issues). We used to go through 2-3 keyboards a week before phasing out for a different laptop manufacturer.

Looks like the bottom left mount is snapped (picture is out of focus so hard to positively say). If that's the case, you'll need a new assembly.

The metal mounting hinges at the top need to be ever so slightly bent inwards to get a good bite on the white scissor piece if you manage to get it back together. They tend to bow out once the scissor is back in. If you have lost any of the tiny axle notches on any the white scissor piece (or they are bent), it's going to fall back off when used.
