SierraSonic
I'm wondering what everyone else thinks, I personally see that even though the OS has improved in some regards with the user experience, a lot of the apps went backwards. For example, lets start with the wallet app, it went from being a feature rich app where you can manually add payment info and reward cards, to being forced to use third party apps (that simply don't exist mind you) just to add the cards to the app. No balances, no linking, and still missing the ever critical syncing of information. This app only went backwards in functionality. The mail and calendar apps also improved in style and certain functions, but core functions ranging from the major missing feature of combined inboxes, to the minor but very impactful lack of selecting multiple emails. Sure they look nice now that they matches the OS theme, but it's useless as far as actually using it. Reading emails, and marking them as read went from simple to just tedious, selecting every email individually, combing through each account, just to remove that number from the live tile, dozens of times a day now. The lack of a barcode reader is the icing on the cake, it went from being it's own app (Microsoft Tag), to being incorporated with search, to non existent. Most of the functions have been moved over to third party apps the ecosystem just doesn't have, and most likely won't, as people move away from the OS due to decisions such as these. Promises, delays, and now a push for apps on competing platforms. I really want this platform to succeed as I am invested in the environment, but I'm starting to see less benefits from my dedication, and it's starting to seem like a lost cause as Microsoft focuses on features that are seemingly pointless, and are holding back from releasing the ones that matter, such as extensions. The OS also suffers from the "split control panel/settings" but in it's own way with the new settings panels missing features such as sensitivity settings, unless you use the old defunct "touch" setting page that stands out of place. greenwizard88
I'm definitely taking a wait and see approach to Windows Mobile and the 950 phones.
