Microsoft in the giving spirit?

Recommended Posts

Today I received a rather odd email from Microsoft & the Xbox Rewards Program today.

I got an email basically saying, Thank you for being an 5yr member of the Xbox Live Rewards Program.

And for my "contributions" to Xbox, they are rewarding me with $25 Xbox Gift Card.

Rather odd coming from them (Microsoft), so I checked the validaty of the email and sure enough, it's legit.

I don't know how random or not this is, so I hit up a friend and asked him to check his email as well, and he received nothing.

We've both been in the program for the exact same length of time. His gamerscore is higher than mines, but I have more games than he does.

He is rated 1 Star, and I'm a 3Star, according to the Xbox Rewards Website, not sure how much that factors in.

They probably give out the voucher randomly. Maybe you haven't spent anything in the store in a while and are giving an incentive to spend or maybe you spend more and are giving back?

Lots of variables to consider, it could be for a multitude of reasons.
