Neowin's Official 2004 NFL Playoff Thread!

Atlanta would have been a lot better if Vick was healthy all season. Any how this is the playoff thread and my two favourites are in action tomorrow. Here's hoping for the Colts and Pack to pull off upsets. Gotta love the underdogs! :D (Y)

Colts were favored to win versus KC by twice the score of KC. Well they didnt double the KC score but they did pull out a win. Now I've seen prelims for the NE and Colts game and it apprears NE is favored by 3 pts. Colts will be the underdogs there!

NFC - who cares anymore.

well im going to be pulling for whoever comes out of the NFC. I dont really like the Colts or the Pats. I think im pulling for the panthers now just because they are the underdogs and the philadelphia fans just get so ****ed off when they lose. Also, 2 straight superbowl champs from the NFC South would be cool. that way when atlanta wins next year it would be a threepeat for the nfc south.

No no, we must all pray for an Eagles' victory tomorrow!!! And now for a momment of silence. "May Darth Dawkins tackle swift and strong tomorrow and peform a full suplex on Farve or Greene, like he did against one of the Redskins recievers last game, to take those two out of the game."

The dawkplex...

Woah, I just noticed this. What do you guys think about this? Kurt Warner is returning as the starting QB of the Rams next season because of the poor playoff performance of Bulger: Link.

Bulger's bid to be the Rams franchise quarterback was intercepted Saturday along with three of his passes. Kurt Warner isn't going anywhere, folks. Though he might have to reconfigure his contract, Warner will be the starting quarterback for the Rams -- not the Cowboys or the Dolphins -- next fall. Bulger will have to learn how to handle being a backup again so that he can pick up the necessary charisma to win these close playoff games.
was that from a reliable news source? or was that just someones opinion

Well it is from ESPN's site, but it could just be an author's opinion. If it was up to me I would make Warner starting QB. Why would you go with a rookie into the playoffs when you have a QB that has won two Super Bowls?

well bulger has been very impressive in the regular season and there was no reason for martz to change his plan now. warner isnt the same player he was when he won the superbowl a few years back. bulger is a better QB i think and i would rather have him starting for my team if i had to choose between the two

Well think about this for a minute. Warner had a very bad hand injury and when he came back he was definitely not 100%. So the coach gave into the fans and benched him and put Bulger in who previously had done well when he replaced Warner. You could say the same thing about McNabb. When he came back for the playoffs last season and along with the first two games of this season he sucked big time, yet Reid stuck with him. Reid didn't replace him with AJ Feely who won the last five games of the season. Thank god Reid did not listen to the fans or the media to sit out McNabb. I think if the Rams give Warner the same opportunity, more time, and do not bench him then he can get back to his old self. It takes a few games to shake off an injury and regain your old form. Look how much Vick is struggling also, but I think he will return to his old self. I think Warner got in the last laugh because everyone in the Rams franchise probably realizes that they are not the same team without him.

but you just cant argue with Bulgers numbers up until this point. he earned the right to start that game, while warner started last season 0-5 and didnt play any better in the few games hes played since then. Warner realized it was time for the kid to play and he accepted the role of mentor. I think both QBs are deserving of a starting NFL job, so one of them needs to leave, and i think it will be warner. The fans turned on him when bulger came along so i wouldnt blame him for leaving.
