OH MY GOD.. A FOOTBALL TEAM IN LOUISIANA WON A ****IN CHAMPIONSHIP!

I'm going crazy here. Celebrating with mass amounts of liquor like a true louisianian. YEARS AND YEARS of mental anguish by being a New Orleans Saints fan has been lifted by LSU! A big F.U. to the NFL teams trying to take Saban away from us.

i didn't know there was another fellow new orlenian at neowin

yeah, all 3 teams deserved it. you can't pick just 2. you have to remember if there was no BCS, there would be THREE national champs this year, so at least we got it down to 2. but we need a system capable of handling more than 2 teams.

edit

wtf, there's no halo. thats a bs call on lsu. they should penalize the OU guy, he blocked twice in a row in the back.

I still don't understand who the third team would be....

well USC, LSU, and OU would all have gone to different bowls, and if they all won, would finish the season with 1 loss.

Yeah, but that assumes they all would win. OU and LSu might have played each other anyway. A playoff system is the way to go....that much we all pretty much agree on.

Playoffs will never happen, the NCAA will not let it be a reality. Schools make to much money the way the bowl system is setup and they wont switch. The big confrences need to band together and abolish the BCS system, the concept of strength of schedule and common opponets is great, but it just doesn't work. The system doesn't put into consideration the final score or stats, just wins and losses. Like how well USC dominated Michigan and LSU did to Oklahoma, the scores were way closer then the reality of the game. Human voters see that stuff and vote accordingly. What needs to happen is the top 4 BCS teams go into a 'playoff'. That way USC and LSU could have played probably one of the greatest college football games ever. I have never seen a secondary as well coached and as positionally sound as LSU, Saban has an incredible knack. I would have love to seen Mike Williams go up against that. USC would beat LSU. USC's defense would contain the LSU offense and the LSU defense would do great against USC's offense, but would be able to stop it.

And whoever said I wasn't a sports fan, shush. Just because I made fun of people doing play-by-play on a web forum doesn't make me not a fan. Just pointing out that some people need to do something besides be on there computer 24-7.

hey, wireless laptop, couch, tv, football game, does it get any better? ;)

the bowls need to be kept the way they are. theres no doubt about that. either have the top 8 teams play in like 6 of the bowls, and then have a new champoinship bowl for the 7th. or do just 4 teams. actually, 8 teams would be overkill. we rarely have 3 teams all with one loss, and only rarely is there 2 teams with the same best record.
