Well ... looks like SpaceX is nicely on-track to make the S1 Landings more common than the failed ones. Which means they'll be printing their own money.

I hope that the burnoff didn't do too much damage to the web.....she was smoldering the whole time....:(

Yeah. :( Made me wonder as well. Perhaps that's something the Engineering Team will want to look at for a possible addition to the 1.3 Upgrades -- a quench or a fire snuff system for the Octoweb. Can't hurt to put one on, and it'll save the company money when considering that it costs more to replace it (and the Merlins) if they're suffering thermal damage or warpage because they're smoldering like that after landing.

We can't have them cooled rapidly either, though. That's bad too. Something in the middle-of-the-road, temps-wise. couple hundred degrees F, where they aren't on fire and can cool on their own.

They may want to consider installing a bidet for the rocket on the platform.  :)

That's actually not a good idea. Remember, what happens to metal when it's rapidly cooled? Warpage, crackage, and shatterage. All things we don't want the Falcon 9's Octoweb (or the Merlins) to do. I'd hate to be the one to tell Elon that we were the ones who broke his rockets ... no thank you ... eep ..

With the returned stage....on a GTO launch.....this one made some money....even more money if damage is minimal....:D

Perfect. I was thinking Carbon, myself. Preserves everything perfectly, if a bit on the dirty side.

It looks as if 1 out of 4 legs is still out of the yellow ring, wonder when we will see such a dead center landing that all fours are in the ring :D

*Not that this wasn't impressive btw :p*
