Mine is currently in my closet.... I have the original B series. I actually have 2 of these, one capacitor blew on one, and although I replaced it, still didn't work...

I don't really do anything with it atm..

I have 2 RPi 2, one is running RasPlex, the other is running RetroPie. I've hooked up an old external hard drive to the RetroPie to put all the roms on, there's also a wired Xbox 360 controller hooked up to it as well.

Pi 3 B for XBMC on main TV

Pi 1 B+ for XBMC on secondary TV (the UI is slow, but most content plays fine)

Pi Zero + Cam for buzzing people into my apartment

I've got a spare Pi 1 B+ too, but don't really know what to do with it.

I have 1 of the old ones, I use it to monitor my ups in av cabinet mostly.  I also have 2 other of the new 3 model.  One I turned into a ntp stratum 1 server that I serve to ntp pool on both ipv4 and ipv6.  Other one I currently run observium on to monitor my network.

There are like a bajillion things you can do with them.  Waiting for the zero to become available again, on the waiting lists - just waiting for email that can order..  Wouldn't mind getting a few more.  Future plans are putting my humidor online and control of temp and humidity of it.  I wouldn't mind using one as weather station, etc.

They are more cost effective in monitoring your UPS than buying a networked one or buying one you can add a card too, etc.  I currently monitor my desktop ups just with the desktop and usb since its on 24/7 and use a vm that monitors the UPS my esxi host it connected too.. But the one int he AV cabinet my older pi was well suited for.  Once I can get some zero's prob have all my UPS monitored with just those.

They make great little boxes to run observium that is for sure. Really cheap NTP servers, add a gps module and there you go Stratum 1 for like $100 total..

3 B?

I'm confused about the B

Was there another version 3 before this one, or have they thrown their own naming convention out the window?

I think their original intention was to use the "Model B" branding for the full-featured Pi 1, 2, 3 then release a "Model A" of each one with the same chip but cut down features (single usb, no ethernet, less RAM, etc)... but then they didn't so the Pi 2 and Pi 3 only have "Model B" variants. I guess calling it Pi 3 B like I did is kind of redundant since as far as I know there's only been one Pi 3 model, it confused me a bit while buying it too.

I'm tinkering around with using my Pi 1/2/3 as Alarm Clocks, audio players, and a few other things. Working on a local area network connection to an android app to control the sound, song, etc. Music would be on a network drive. It'd cost me $100 per room, plus speakers. I was also looking into USB Charging dock and playing music from a phone or something of that sort.

But this is a long ways off, first I need to finish setting up my home network. After my frustration with BudMan has disappeared, I'm going to head back into it.

Right now, my pi run's pi-hol (Haven't configured it yet)

Looked at Observium, 150 pounds for it. Did you actually pay for it, or get it through work?

I have not disappeared, I just can not help someone that continues to be a Super Tard..  I don't know how many ways I can explain it to you, and you say yes and say you oh I get it now.. And then its like might as well have been talking to a retarded monkey that just got out of his lobotomy surgery, and doped up on morphine still, etc. etc..

I do want to help you..  But JFC dude its like talking to Patrick from sponge bob..

edit:  I use the community FREE version..

is your switch in layer 2 mode yet?  If so lets move forward and create your other segments.

Ahhh.. Might be able to get my work to pay for it.

As for the home network thing, I have too many things buzzing around in my brain. Trying to comprehend what you're saying, and figure out specifically what you're talking about while doing other things, just didn't work. I'd have it for one second, and then I'd lose it. Usually when I try to explain it back, which means I truly don't understand it. If you can't explain it in kindergarten level, you don't understand it. And NO that's not an invitation to explain it that way :p Let me struggle, I learn everything the hard way, no matter how many times I'm warned or told to do it another way. I blame my mother for her damn stubbornness.

I have already tried the sub preschool level methods.  We broke out the crayons and drew pictures for gosh sake.

I don't see how your wanting to get into networking, and taking classes at what has to be college level??  And don't understand the basic concepts like layer 2 and layer 3..  Or for that matter what a gateway even is..  I do want to help you..  I really really do..  But I can not keep banging my head against a wall, I really do not know if I can lift the bat that is big enough to bang the basic concepts into you..

Are you taking these classes at the zoolander school for kids that don't read so good or something??

I got a Pi 3 to try out Kodi. Ok so far, but the initial justification was to try to get March Madness on the TV without using a laptop. Unfortunately finding a TBS stream didn't turn out so well. It's also serving as a stand for some Lego minifigs as the case I bought has Lego-compatible studs on top and bottom. :D

If thought about using one as a simple wireless bridge to connect  a laser printer that has wired ethernet only.

Just found a place that has zero in stock.. From the UK, but hey full kit came to $38 usd shipped so not that bad.

Would hope mine should be here by next weekend ;)
