Privacy lovers -- this should be required viewing for Windows 10

I was mildly shocked to learn Windows 10 includes spyware.

Useful video. The way one defines spyware in regards to Windows 10 is personal. However, it is a fact Microsoft has pushed the boundaries with privacy in Windows 10, and has stepped on many toes along the the way.

I was absent from Neowin for 15 months, about.

 

I was not aware of the spyware.

No one is happy with this, there is always Linux but then there is still the NSA and tons of other agencies that can log your every keystroke. So You are helpless . No one here is making fun of you HUM, at least I hope not. I am not.  Trust me I tried every program and fix out there including messing with The Hosts file. Nothing really works. You can un install every app you don't want and stop them from running in the background but with Windows 10, your privacy is basically gone.

Browsing habits?  It's possible.  The rest?  Pfft.  Not in any way that can't be turned off, and mostly related to Cortana, OneDrive, or the Store.  Don't use them, no problems.

If you really want to kill telemetry, use a tool like wintoolkit or ntlite to completely remove the package from the installation source. I've tested it, it's easy to do. Just remove this package and boom. No telemetry.

Usage Statistics don't equal Spying, the long string in a database that represents your install cares not what porn you watch, which religion you are or your sexual orientation. all the statistics are used for is to determine trends within their software e.g. people use this function a lot lets evolve it or no one uses this function at all, we can remove it.

 

With todays culture of 24 news that repeats the same news every 15mins and clickbait articles/videos everywhere on the internet I fear for the future. D: Sometimes features are innocent with their intent but that doesn't generate ad revenue now does it. -_-

 

I let Microsoft have my statistics in the same way I vote, If I don't participate I cant help influence change.

I would not be surprised that MS shares your info with the NSA.

Please dont start spreading this FUD again. I know you were absent for a while, but there is not one single, credible source that says they are uploading your files or private info. Also, since you were gone, Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 8.1 all include the same telemetry, or what you guys call "spying," that 10 has.

Exactly, wheres the outrage around 7/8/8.1? I am sure Vista had something similar as well, heck I know XP did because we had XP Anti-Spy to disable a lot of the "spying."
