Try temporarily changing the Windows setting to "show all notification icons" When I right click the the icon, it has only a setting to show or not so if the default is off it would need to be accessed somewhere else just to turn it on! Ran Rise of Nations afterwards; it stated that rise.exe is using the nvidia GPU. However, I still cannot play this game (freezing and/or stuttering welcome screen). However, I still cannot play this game (freezing and/or stuttering welcome screen). OK a long road to confirm correct GPU. So, back to normal glitches: 1. Patch level on game 2. Direct-X update on Windows 10 - the old update on the MS site looks like a waste of time but it isn't. It fills in extra DX components for older games etc. 3. lower screen res and other vid settings to minimum and see if problem goes away.
