This DOES not belong in The Conspiracy Section

Why not? The program deletes files. It doesn't remove emails out of an Exchange Database.

So yeah --> The Conspiracy Section

But it wasn't used for what they claim it was used. The tools is not capable of doing what they claim it did

How can we take the whole thing serious?

Who actually set up her server?  She couldn't have done it herself.

Also... didn't the first computer in the Oval Office get installed in the current presidency?

At least Hillary knows how to use email.  I think all Trump knows how to do is Tweet :D

If Trump gets elected... are they really gonna let him use the @potus account?

Bleach bit delete free space. So if you delete these emails from a database, then delete the free space and cache files then she effectively covered her tracks. For being a tech site,  so many people here are stupid. It works with Microsoft office, which probably includes Outlook. If not, it still deletes the free space which when a file is modified it does change how much space was previously used, possibly even the location.

BleachBit has many useful features designed to help you easily clean your computer to free space and maintain privacy.

Delete your private files so completely that "even God can't read them" according to South Carolina Representative Trey Gowdy.

Simple operation: read the descriptions, check the boxes you want, click preview, and click delete.

Multi-platform: Linux and Windows

Free of charge

Free to share, learn, and modify (open source)

No adware, spyware, malware, or browser toolbars

Translated to 61 languages

Shred files to hide their contents and prevent data recovery

Shred any file (such as a spreadsheet on your desktop)

Overwrite free disk space to hide previously deleted files

Portable app for Windows: run without installation

Command line interface for scripting and automation

CleanerML allows anyone to write a new cleaner using XML

Automatically import and update winapp2.ini cleaner files (a separate download) giving Windows users access to 2500+ additional cleaners

Frequent software updates with new features

Uses

Use BleachBit to:

Free disk space

Reduce the size of backups and the time to create them by removing unnecessary files

Maintain privacy

Improve system performance (by vacuuming the Firefox database, for example)

Prepare whole disk images for compression (common for "ghost" backups and virtual machines) by wiping free disk space

Cleaners

BleachBit includes a growing list of cleaners. Typically each cleaner represents an application such as Firefox or Internet Explorer. Within each cleaner, BleachBit gives options covering components that can be cleaned such as cache, cookies, and log files. Each option is given a description to help you make good decisions.

The following are a list of cleaners available in BleachBit 0.9.2. You should be able to see a list of options by hovering your mouse over the cleaner name.

Adanaxis

...

Microsoft Office

...

System logs

...

Windows Explorer

...

Add 2500+ cleaners by using winapp2.ini (Windows only).

...

Overwrite free disk space to hide previously files

Vacuum Firefox, Google Chrome, Liferea, Thunderbird, and Yum databases: shrink files without removing data to save space and improve speed

Surgically remove private information from .ini and JSON configuration files and SQLite3 databases without deleting the whole file

Overwrite data in SQLite3 before deleting it to prevent recovery (optional)

MODS: Are you not going to move this to the REAL WORLD NEWS SECTION?

I have a real problem with the obvious bias on this website, it is a shame that Neowin is letting it go downhill.

Part of the issue is that the information from the FBI is via a 2nd hand source. Obviously this doesn't change the fact that Hillary was using a private mail address for matters other than private.

Then again .. how many so called "news" come out from sources such as MSNBC / CNN / Fox that pretend to be factual but still get traction and so called "validation".

It is quite hard to source the FBI, Have you an idea of what it costs and the time it takes to use FOIA? which is why Clinton had her personal server in the first place so no one could use The FOIA.  This thread does NOT belong in the section it is in. It being here just demonstrates the bias of Neowin, if it was moved here.

True but in any other case the FBI would have included information such as this in their official statement.

Am also not a fan of how the Conspiracy section is not really about conspiracies anymore in the old type of sense..

No they wouldn't as it was Top Secret Data, some of it was so highly classified that The Senators conducting that hearing did not have the level of clearance necessary to view those documents. Any FOIA request would come back with many blacked out statements. This subject is NOT A CONSPIRACY , IT IS A FACT, THE FBI SAID THIS!

Where does BleachBit say it can delete individual emails from an exchange server ... or remove individual emails from Outlook (like within a PST file).  If you look at the program itself ... it makes no mention of Outlook, Exchange, etc.  This is the only Office related options...

Capture.JPG

...so which one of those removes emails again?

Thus ... the conspiracy section this belongs in ... unless so verifiable proof showing it is capable of performing the task for which the OP article stated.

I haven't seen such statement ... have you (other than from Republican Trey Gowdy)?

I see.  Where is the evidence though that she maliciously and purposely used this software to wipe the free space after deleting her emails...and she wasn't using this software for the other features it has?

BleachBit did write fairly funny/comical instructions on how to delete "secret" emails from Exchange today. :)

https://www.bleachbit.org/news/how-delete-secret-emails-microsoft-exchange

I'm just waiting for the FBI to release something ... that yea ... she used BleachBit to prevent recovery of deleted emails.  I haven't seen anything from them officially ... just some Republican stating that she used it "citing" the FBI.  Obviously opposing parties are rarely honest with their attacks across the aisle.  They probably just released a list of software on her computer ... and he was like "oooo...BleachBit...that sounds sinister".  In other words ... until the FBI actually says she used it ... it isn't official.

That is not proof, it is a claim by South Carolina Rep Trey Gowdy, a member of the Tea Party movement and Republican.  Unless some corroborating documents/facts are released it is no more than hearsay.

From the article - "South Carolina Representative Trey Gowdy appeared on Fox News today and disclosed new details about the Clinton email scandal that seem to indicate intent to destroy evidence.  Per the clip below, Gowdy reveals that Clinton used "BleachBit" to erase the "personal" emails from her private server."

Also a member of the house select committee, an investigative committee to investigate the Benghazi incident. Also, he is an attorney. I give him more credibility than your friend Clinton, who has oceans of scandal behind her.
