VECTORISED 3D DESKTOP

Recommended Posts

This is a basic version of my FERRIS vectorised desktop concept. Obviously some things are missing like drawer titles and icons etc.

The cube in the middle rotates in 3D and when a drawer is pressed it zooms to the front of the screen with a whooshing noise.

At the moment it is only partially voice activated I.e Cube left, cube up, Web, Word and Excel etc

Can anybody recommend any 'constructive' enhancements/ideas?

if i had to look at that i'd throw my pc out of a third story window.

and you say this is a working prototype? care to share a avi/mov/wmv file?

personally i think you need to get rid of all that crap on the desktop... make it be requested before it's shown.

if you want a base core design template

its called LCARS :)

and its used on Star Trek.

:D

the idea can work

but it has to look apealing or has to be "modelable"

The colors scheme is bad, and it doesn't look useable at all.

I agree. You just can't get anything done using the main screen or desktop like that. It's always covered with windows if you're actually doing something. I'm not saying that you should not pursue new ways of interacting with your computer, but this is just not going to be feasible.

Thanks for all your 'constructive' comments. I especially found your opinions of colour helpful (like its relevant)

LOL

Make a .avi so we can see it in action.

Screenshots doesnt help if we dont know how it is to use it, a movie will get more expressions across.

And i strongly advice you to change colors. It will help alot.
