Hum
L tried other browsers. Reinstalling Chrome. Must be something funky going on with Xfinity. I ran DNS Jumper and it took an unusually long time to test the DNS servers. We are having extreme cold in PA tonight. May be affecting cable internet. Obi-Wan Kenobi
no, shouldn't need to if configured properly. Can you elaborate? Edit: works as it should, and the task ends properly. I don't understand. ??? Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/1316630-what-happened-to-chrome/#findComment-597705058 Share on other sites
Hum
Weird. I tried my Android tablet when I got up. Chrome works fine. So I rebooted my desktop, and then Chrome worked right away. I guess a Reboot is always the first step to try .... All is well again. Before even rebooting your machine to see if that fixes it. Dang, bro. Dot Matrix
I think there was an update to Chrome. I noticed that the tabs appear taller. Other than that Chrome is still working for me as it should on my Windows 10 at work. Guest
Check chromes proxy settings to see if they're clear? Also, there's a way to run it in safe mode or something if you google for it, try that too. Hum
I tried completely uninstalling Chrome, removing Registry entries, turning off malware protection, then reinstalling Chrome. Still doing the gray screen; not connecting. I can only guess it is related to Windows updates. Chrome is not connecting at all now. Hum
^ That seems to have worked, for now. Thanks. Deleted Google folders. Had to urn off malware protection for Chrome to install. Hum
I see now what the problem is. There is something incompatible between the latest Chrome and my Malware protection. When I set protection to maximum, Chrome is blocked from connecting. So I set protection to 1 lower setting. Chrome works normally now.
