(I don't own ANY sort of console, so I have to seriously consider it, depending on title options; who wants to buy a console and have the games I want be unavailable on it?) Not exactly surprising - you can upgrade your PS3 (any of them) using USB sticks; the current version is 4.76. PS3 drives themselves are standard SATA - as long as you know the physical specs, you could likely drop a 1TB - if not 2TB drive - in even a SuperSlim. Merely from WD alone, 2TB SATA drives range from $50 IntelliPower to $90 RED - and that is just Amazon's low end. The recommended size (for any PS3) is 1TB (physical size issues); however, this works for any PS3 (from "fatty" to SuperSlim). I went back and double-checked - turns out that the second-closest GS has a 160GB Fatty in stock. I even have a 500GB WD Eco-Green that I could swap in if I wanted to do an ASAP upgrade.
