PAUL -- Calling it a "ballpark of the imagination," the Twins unveiled plans Tuesday for the construction of a new 42,000-seat, baseball-only, natural grass stadium with a retractable roof. Backed by video animation, artist's renderings and a working model featuring a moving roof, team representatives made their pitch at the state capitol to Gov. Tim Pawlenty's Stadium Screening Committee -- a 19-member panel comprised of state legislators, community leaders and private citizens. full story Ballpark Page Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/132376-mlb-minnesota-twins-unveil-new-ballpark-plans/ Share on other sites
aem4162
it's beautiful , but i hate roofs....they take the fun out of watching a game in the rain or snow Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/132376-mlb-minnesota-twins-unveil-new-ballpark-plans/#findComment-1606219 Share on other sites
CatnipOligarchy
yes, roofs are (N), but a retractable roof is a whole lot better than that metrodome they play in now. at least it would have real grass Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/132376-mlb-minnesota-twins-unveil-new-ballpark-plans/#findComment-1606227 Share on other sites
ChicoCahill
i hate losing the old ballparks, the metrodome gave the twins a great home field advantage Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/132376-mlb-minnesota-twins-unveil-new-ballpark-plans/#findComment-1608528 Share on other sites

stncttr908 Veteran Posted January 16, 2004 Veteran Share Posted January 16, 2004 Here's another thought. Let's sign some key free agents so that once the stigma of a new ballpark wears off, people will have a reason to come back and re-occupy those seats. Galley
I like it; baseball should never be played in a closed roof stadium (in clear weatehr).
