Both.

Increased border security certainly does its part, but so does the Federal government putting heat on the states and cities who were protecting them from USCBP via Sanctuary Cities and states looking the other way.

It'll take time to roll this back, cities appealing to the Supreme Court etc., but the composition of SCOTUS is definitely heading more in the direction of  strict constructionist originalism;

Justice Gorsuch may well be more conservative than the late Justice Scalia, and Justice Kennedy is going to retire after the fall term - no doubt replaced by another in the mold of Thomas or Gorsuch.  Additionally, Justices Breyer and Kagan are making noises they want to 'work with' the conservative majority. Don't be surprised to see 6-3 or 7-2 votes.

Luckily the supreme court rarely ever reverses a previous ruling, so those looking to end Roe V. Wade or Obergefell v Hodges rulings are probably going to be disappointed.

Walls don't have to be physical. Just because USCBP is once again taking enforcement seriously the number of illegals crossing into the US has dropped drastically.

Who needs to waste millions on a wall then with border crossings at their lowest level in 40 years.

And even lower, about 40%+, now that the Border Patrol is unshackled. See above graph.

And,

Quote

Six in ten American voters support the new ban on people from six predominantly Muslim countries from entering the United States unless they can show they have a close relative here, according to opinion poll results released on Wednesday.

The Politico-Morning Consult poll found 37 percent of voters said they "strongly supported" the new guidelines issued by the U.S. State Department that would deny visas to citizens of Iran, Libya, Syria, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen who do not have close relatives in the United States. Another 23 percent of voters said they "somewhat support" the guidelines.

The poll was conducted online on Thursday and Friday following a U.S. Supreme Court ruling that partly upheld the ban, with 1,989 registered voters taking part. The poll result's margin of error was two percentage points, meaning results could vary that much either way. (Link to the poll: politi.co/2uJLfoO)

Doesn't matter, it's not like his/her career got better as a result. :laugh:

Obligatory "I HATE THE TRUMPS" followed by, "Let me show feigned concern for his son." Circlejerk continues. :woot:

1) to slow down the rest.  Extra points for anti-tunnel features.

2) to mitigate the Zetas, who are largely corrupted Mexican Federales, from crossing into the US on their narco-smuggling ops. These guys have been shooting at USCBP officers several miles into US territory.
