Looks nice and professional.   I am using dark theme.. it looks great.

I wonder if we should darken the default theme a touch, thing is there are considerations to doing anything like that, for the color blind etc.

White is too bright for the eyes.  If you can dark it, it would be appreciated.  

 

I wasn't talking about that dark like the dark theme.  Just tone it down... such as light grey or something like that.

Yeah I get you, I use the Pro theme all the time now myself.

This was the main reason I love pro, and the old pro theme, was light, but not bright enough to hurt when visiting late at night while my wife slept, and none of the font issues that old darkside had when occasionally someone had to change the font colour.

a lighter shade of grey would work, or silver/grey

Nah I going to start to do some updating to the default theme this week to darken it a bit. I think I want to base it on Pro, but blue.

But yeah the white hurts me ayes.

I remember back on neowin5 or something like that? a nice blue theme with greyish areas? The came along with the redesigned logo.

That was the short lived "Atlas". It got dumped because we moved to HTML5 I think. It's probably the only reason it had such a short life.

The article background was still white but darker blues used heavily everywhere else.

Started darkening it a bit (Orion Default) but I want @Timan's feedback before I continue. The post background is no longer white anyway, which should be easier on the eyes.

Any thoughts on editing the Darkside theme to make unread threads stick out more?  Maybe it is just me but other themes, it is easier to see.  Example attached,

I'm finding that the user menu on the main page doesn't work on mobile (Chrome).

when you say main page do you mean Front Page News or Forum Index? which theme?

the mobile menu seems to be working on both sides for me (running chrome stable Orion Modern)

 

try clearing your cache if you have not already

Front Page News, and it doesn't matter which theme. If I touch the drop down arrow, I get taken to my profile page. Cache has been cleared.

If you mean the usermenu on main mobile not opening @Redmak @DaveLegg or @Timan haven't gotten around to fixing it yet.
