Someone got into my company Wordpress site

Recommended Posts

Someone with a different user name change my role from admin to a lower role which I can't do anything on there anymore. I call the owner to see if anyone was changing anything on the website and they told me NO. Now I can't get do anything on the back end but changing info on my profile. I need to change my role on the website. I do have the hosting access to the website and is there anyway I can do on the hosting part to change the role or at least change the password of the other user so I can lock everything down?

Its not from wordpress.com. It's from a private website and wordpress is the CMS that we are using.

If you aren't the owner of the site, maybe they changed your role on purpose? Not sure, but maybe they have a different admin doing the role now? Just thinking about it........

If you are hosting the site, you have root access or admin access to the database behind your wordpress site - then sure you can do anything want.
