You’re embarrassing yourself by trying to seem elitist. It’s a bit lame. If all I have to hand is an MP3 player and a pair of £50 headphones, I will still listen to the music I like and enjoy it - the same as when I’m at home and use better quality gear. Yes there’s a line whereby it’s unlistenable, but blindly suggesting that MP3 is that line is just an attempt to seem high brow, and failing.
