If it runs Windows, it runs Defender - and the only hardware that does NOT run Defender is my phone because the phone runs Android.

Windows Defender as the the real-time protection, Malwarebytes Antimalware as the second opinion.

tbh never been a fan of malware bytes products for my own use.

Webroot SA and Ransom Free  https://ransomfree.cybereason.com/ FTW!

its very good to run monitoring SANS etc from your endpoint client, supports NFS vols & CIFs. Its also free for commercial use.

say what you like, but some of the best security companies and security products are pouring out of Israel currently ;) Big fan of Checkpoint UTMS and their Blade firewalls.

lays honeytrap directories/files on root of the Os drive and also monitors shares.

AV software has become so intrusive and generally creepy over the last couple years so I just use Windows Defender these days (again) with an ad-blocker and no Java or standalone Flash installed. I have used Malwarebytes as a second opinion/standalone scanner in the past but... I just reinstalled Windows 10 on my PC so will be watching this thread for maybe a different solution for that.

Since closing down the computer store over 3 years ago, Malwarebytes is still the go-to solution that I use now for computer cleaning needs for friends and family who get into trouble. I also must add the machines that malwarevytes has to go clean all have windows defneder, and/or norton, avg, avast, 360TS, etc... When people see how much the other guys let through, they stop using them on the very same day.  I just don't know why everyone just doesn't Malwarebytes. After I service their machine, they do. :)
