Steven P. Administrators Posted February 11, 2018 Administrators Share Posted February 11, 2018 Hi Guys, I tried this by following the instructions and it worked. I am now on (official) Android Oreo https://www.xda-developers.com/how-to-install-android-oreo-on-the-samsung-galaxy-s8-s8-exynos Please do read and follow the instructions closely, with the last part of the upgrade, where the update.zip file is being used (from SD card in my case) it does show a mount error and appears to "freeze" on some steps, but just wait, or press "volume down" to see the progress. Other things of note. My phone was not reset, kept all data and apps and it all took less than half an hour from start to finish.

So much easier to do what? Install Android on? Steven P. 1 Share
techbeck
Install instructions are not bad. I have seen ones that are really bad before or difficult to follow.

PGHammer
A similar process can install Oreo on the S7 and S7 edge (the only thing "foreign" is that it uses AT&T-branded S7 firmware) - however, it works just fine on non-ATT S7 and S7 edge handsets on non-ATT carriers (my own S7 is one such).
