+Warwagon MVC Posted February 14, 2018 MVC Share Posted February 14, 2018 Do you guys use an Antivirus on your Android phone? I didn't put an option "I don't have an Android phone" ... if you don't have an Android phone, just don't vote and click the show results button. jnelsoninjax
Never thought it being needed, is there a reason to need one? CrossCheck
I don't. I also don't download non reputable apps or games, visit sketchy websites or download torrents on my phone. So there is no need Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/1356078-do-you-use-an-antivirus-on-your-android-phone/#findComment-598192602 Share on other sites
Nick H. Supervisor Posted February 14, 2018 Supervisor Share Posted February 14, 2018 I've got Lookout Security on my phone, but I think that's it. I just use it to scan APK files before I run them if I have got them from places other than the Play Store. dipsylalapo Supervisor Posted February 14, 2018 Supervisor Share Posted February 14, 2018 Call me naive, but unless, as you said, the phone is out of data and not getting updates, you stick with the Play store and keep on legit sites, is there a need? +Zagadka Subscriber² Posted March 10, 2018 Subscriber² Share Posted March 10, 2018 I do... not really for a reason, but also not really for no reason. Seriously, though, it does have some additional features like emergency access, tracking, security, blocking/filtering, etc. +E.Worm Jimmy and DrunknMunky 2 Share Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/1356078-do-you-use-an-antivirus-on-your-android-phone/#findComment-598214802 Share on other sites

Buttus
do AV's on android work? i mean, without root? it seems like they'd have the same permissions as whatever virus APK you ran, so they'd just cancel each other out?
