kiddingguy
I bought myself a simple E4310 laptop for some testing purposes. I did have some previous RAM-sticks. However, when putting these into the Latitude E4310 is not working smoothly. Is the specific "DELL RAM"? And if so, where do I have to pay attention to? EDIT: I tried 4GB PC3L12800 and 2GB PC3L 12800 RAM sticks Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/1360214-specific-dell-latitude-e4310-ram/ Share on other sites
Mindovermaster Global Moderator Posted April 2, 2018 Global Moderator Share Posted April 2, 2018 Crucial memory checker is teeling me that you need DDR3 PC3-12800 • CL=11 • Unbuffered • NON-ECC • DDR3-1600 • 1.35V • A max of 8GB... What RAM are you using? Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/1360214-specific-dell-latitude-e4310-ram/#findComment-598232238 Share on other sites
Jason S. Global Moderator Posted April 2, 2018 Global Moderator Share Posted April 2, 2018 Dell stuff does not require dell specific RAM. Perhaps the BIOS cant recognize the 'L' RAM youre using. maybe need a BIOS update? EDIT: I tried 4GB PC3L12800 and 2GB PC3L 12800 RAM sticks That is an old first-gen i-series. https://www.notebookcheck.net/Review-Dell-Latitude-E4310-Subnotebook.45771.0.html It will not recognize the lower voltage DDR3L which is very much a newer and still current RAM used for extended battery life instead of DDR4 in the ultra-light category. You need standard Laptop DDR3. I always recommend G.Skill for RAM.
