Most of Apple's laptop lineup has been refreshed so far, but one of its models, the MacBook Air, still remains untouched. While its aging product has received internal refreshes, the MacBook Air's exterior design has remained the same for nearly a decade. There have been rumors about a refresh coming but it now looks like things might be pushed back until the second half of the year.
The MacBook Air refreshed was apparently originally scheduled for release in the second quarter of 2018 but now will see a release sometime in Q3 or Q4. This information comes by way of supply chain sources. Apple has not stated why production is being pushed back but there is speculation that there may be some issue with some of the key components of the unit.
Like many of Apple's more recent laptop designs, the new MacBook Air is rumored to have a slim design, a Retina display, and will arrive with Intel's latest processor. Most of the aforementioned is a given but what could make the new MacBook Air a lucrative option for many is its rumored price, which could sit below $800 USD.
