scumdogmillionaire
I have a Surface Book, hooked up to a Surface Dock, going to a Dell Ultra HD 4K Monitor P2415Q. I've noticed recently, though I can't pinpoint exactly when it started, that gradients on the external display don't transition properly. On the Surface Book display they are good. Like I'm missing colors or something? I've attached a photo. I've tried downloading the color profile for this monitor with no change. The only other thing I can think of is it's Windows 10 Insider (fast, currently on the latest?) but again.. this may have started before that. I also tried upgrading my Surface Pro 3 to that build, plugged it into the dock and it displays fine. So I have eliminated that its an issue with the monitor or Surface Dock, and possibly the 1809 beta. Does anyone have any ideas? Thank you! Guest
- Check colour depth setting in Windows. - Try changing the format of the file to 16 bit if it already isn't. - Try adding 2-4% noise filter, then do a single blur filter, this can on occasion fix bad gradients. Other than that, it could just be that this is the best the display can manage...
