Recommended Posts

The Tigers and Ivan Rodriguez have finally reached a verbal agreement on a four-year contract, both have reported that the two sides have agreed on a four-year, $40 million deal that includes clauses that would allow the Tigers to shorten the deal in case of injury. An announcement is expected to come on Monday.

I would prefer for the Tigers to get a couple of moderately good stars than one major star but what can you do. That's why my favorite home team is the Red Wings :).

edit: 500 posts! ...I don't know who to thank...yeah, I'll save the big speech for a 1000 which should come in 2006.

so what, marlins are doing the same thing they did in 97 or whenver it was? build a winning team, and then trade everyone away?

It looks like it doesn't it. This year the owners claimed that wasn't their intention. They've traded away Derrick Lee to the Cubs for little return, and just lost their best player to Detroit.

yeah pretty much, theyve still got their pitching core (Beckett, Burnett, Penny) but i wouldnt be surprised to see one of them leave too, most likely aj burnett
