fusi0n
I went full RGB.. I bought a Corsair 1000D, New Watercooling, all Corsair LL series fans, bought some RGB LED strips and topped it off with 64GB of RGB memory. Hardware Changed: Corsair Dominator DDR4 3000 (32GB) to Corsair Vengence Pro DDR4 3200 (64GB, had to fill all the slots for ultimate RGB) The issue: I'm getting decent frame drops in games.. 100+FPS > 70FPS. This only started to happen with the new RAM Corsair Dominator DDR4 3000 Specs (Four Slots used) Tested Latency 15-17-17-35 SPD Latency 15-15-15-36 Tested Speed 3000MHz SPD Speed 2133MHz Corsair Vengence Pro DDR4 3200 Specs (All Eight Slots used) Tested Latency 16-18-18-36 SPD Latency 15-15-15-36 Tested Speed 3200MHz SPD Speed 2133MHz Other Hardware: Asus Sabertooth TUF X99 Intel i7 5820K (OCed to 4.6Ghz) SLI EVGA Geforce 1070 SC Can anyone think of a reason why the new memory would degrade gameplay like this? fusi0n
After doing some digging around, it seems my memory is running in Single Channel mode..
Mindovermaster Moderator Posted September 15, 2018 Moderator Share Posted September 15, 2018 I think you are undervolting your RAM. Your board only does 3000 O.C. MAX, not 3200. I do not know if a BIOS upgrade will fix this.

Also, when I force "3000" the computer won't boot.. Also, memory only running in single channel mode..
fusi0n
After RTFM, I have come to t he conclusion that it is a memory configuration limitation. My motherboard won't do 8 Dimms at 3200 or 3000.. The only speed I can get is 2400.. but I now have Quad Channel instead of SIngle Channel after tweaking the bios. I forced 2400 and bumped the voltage to 1.35.
