So could most of our "regular" vehicles on a cold Michigan winter day. And, the better insulated the car is the less help pre-heating is. Duh.

Well I suppose that's the downside of a flush-mount door latch.

 

Regardless, people that live in harsh winter states should always have de-icer handy.  For this example, if the door latch is frozen shut, then the door seams are also likely iced over.  I've had plenty of times where my doors were completely welded shut by ice.  A minute with some de-icer will free it up.
