I saw my first one in person today. It’s more impressive in pictures and videos.

Sure the tech is nice, but I cannot get over the design over this vehicle, it is downright ugly. I see so many of them in my area now and they are just hideous. Tesla is a bunch of computer nerds attempting to build a vehicle, I much prefer Rivian's approach which was car people adding tech to a vehicle.

It's the RL Homermobile...

Looks like they still haven't fixed the stuck doors problem... ;)

Cybertruck snaps its frame @ 5:55 in the video  (I find these folks a bit annoying).

Edit: Not from jumping (like in the thumbnail)...but from pulling a F-150.

frame shears after pulling an ICE F-150  @ 5:55 in the video.  Just wild how this bleeding edge "truck" just broke... ha.  Gigacasting...

That's one strong chain!  The Gigacast™ frame broke before the chain!

Maybe Tesla should make the Cybertruck frame out of the same material as the chain!

To be fair though... the Cybertruck was likely weakened before they tried to tow the other truck.  At 5:23 the rear-end of the Cybertruck fell 3 feet and slammed into a concrete slab.  That probably did some damage to the frame/hitch.  And it didn't help that the F150 got stuck which added extra strain when pulling.  The forces must have been incredible pulling a stuck object like that.

But yeah... steel ladder-frame 1... aluminum Gigacast™ 0

🤣

A man has died in the first fatal accident involving a Tesla Cybertruck.

The EV apparently lost control, crashed into a concrete culvert and burst into flames.

Emergency services declared the driver dead at the scene and are investigating the cause of the crash.

I seek to a random location in the video (around the middle) and here's a quote from their guy doing the review:

"I think it's one of those, you know, I live in Vermont and I'm gay and I'm getting married in a barn type places"

Randomly clicking though the rest of it and it seems like they're not even talking about the truck.

On the plus side, Tucker's off-putting bow-tie is missing and I didn't hear any of his even more off-putting cackling.

So that's my review of the review. It's s**t.

He stopped wearing a bow tie over ten years ago because so many people were making fun of it.

Tesla Cuts $61,000 Base Cybertruck, Raises Prices On All Others And Says You Can Have One Right Now

//

Just four days ago, on August 5, you could place an order for any of three Cyebrtruck trims: The $60,990 Rear-Wheel Drive, the $79,990 All-Wheel Drive, and the $99,990 Cyberbeast, according to an archived version of Tesla’s site. Now, though, all those numbers have changed. The Cyberbeast is now $119,990 [sic], the All-Wheel-Drive costs $99,990[sic], and the Rear-Wheel Drive has quietly disappeared. Prospective buyers eyeing a base-model Cybertruck will now have to shell out an additional $39,000 just to get their foot in the door.

The change was first noticed over on Reddit, but it can be confirmed by scanning through saved versions of Tesla’s page. Interestingly, the pricing and trim level availability aren’t the only changes made to the Cybertruck lineup — Tesla now claims that buyers of All-Wheel Drive and Cyberbeast trims can get their trucks this year, rather than the prior estimate of 2025.

Jalopnik

Either Jalopnik got the price wrong or Tesla updated the MSRP after the article...but take $5k off the article above...so...adjusting the OP in this thread ...

Availability: 2021, 2022 (2024, 2025)

1 motor 2WD:  $39,900   ($60,990)
(250+mile range, est 7,500 lb tow) - "Available in 2025"

2 motor AWD: $49,900  ($93,990)
(300+ mile range, 10,000 lb tow) - 340mi range, 11,000 lbs tow

3 motor AWD: $69,900  ($113,990)
(500+ mile range, 14,000 lb tow)  - 320 mile range, 11,000 lbs tow

yo...that price.  Probably blame it on covid or something.

Wouldn't get a F-150 Lightning either....but hell the XLT is almost $34k less than the 2-motor AWD.  No brainer.

...Canada, you're also getting this ugly POS.  haha

Today, Tesla started sending invites to Canadian Cybertruck reservation holders to convert their reservations into orders.

The automaker has revealed pricing for the two versions currently available:

• Cybertruck AWD Foundation Series: $137,990 CAD
• Cyberbeast Foundation Series: $165,990 CAD

Despite the disadvantageous exchange rate, some automakers will adjust pricing to make it more attractive for Canadian buyers, but not Tesla. These are basically the same prices in the US converted to Canadian dollars.

I just saw one in real life. I was going to a client's house at around 8 pm and as I was driving around The neighborhood trying to find their house I looked to the left and there was a Cybertruck parked in front of somebody's driveway. I was like .. OMG a Cybertruck. Had never seen one in person. So cool looking. There is another one 45 mins away to the east and another one 25 mins away to the south.

So 3 Cybertrucks around, that I know of.

That is surprising for a couple of reasons. 1st its a PR disaster. Even tesla doesn't want their cybertrucks back. 2nd they could probably sell them at a lower price and say sales of the truck are up. 3rd. Use some for replacement parts so people don't have to wait for months to get repairs. 4th Sell them outside the US. I bet there would be a couple of markets they would sell in (of course they would have to find some way to do maintenance on them.

This guy absolutely beat the 💩out of the F-150's trailer hitch ... even bent the frame.

....but the trailer hitch never let go and the frame didn't snap.

...he's still annoying IMO.  Dropping of the F-150 onto concrete blocks starts ~5 mins in the video.
