But even as I type this, the cursor doesnt seem to appear in the reply box, and I'm typing blind here... One word --- pipelining :D
RadishTM Veteran Posted February 9, 2004 Veteran Share Posted February 9, 2004 Right, everything is setup for me in Firefox with the exception of Flash, do I need to edit the registry file that is for Firebird and edit it to suit Firefox? Or is there another way? Radish?

HellBender
sakura.ne.jp is down, mozillazine is down, scragz is down, mozilla.org is molasses-slow. Damn, the whole Mozilla world is rocked by this. I think I'll wait around for the dust to settle :)

riven
it sure is fast, and it uses the cache really well. It will load images from your cache almost imediatley if you have been to a similar page with the same image. im used to this, being an opera user, but its a lot faster in fire fox

RadishTM Veteran Posted February 9, 2004 Veteran Share Posted February 9, 2004 I just ran the Flash installer, it detected FireFox and installed itself into FF's plugin directory. Took about 10 seconds. :) I fixed it :woot:, the Flash Installer didn't find Firefox in the list but I just pointed to where the Firefox Plugins folder was and it works now :) Radish? mrogers
Did you use the Installer or the Zipped build?Radish? I used the installer for FireFox. Got it off of BitTorrent. If you used the zipped build of FireFox, you can still install Flash by running the Flash installer and manually pointing it to the FF plugin directory during the install. Spyder Veteran Posted February 9, 2004 Veteran Share Posted February 9, 2004 radish.. just as an fyi.. the flash installer picks up the browser if you use the non-zipped one. thats part of the reason they created a windows installer.

Yeah Spydie, I don't use the Installer because it tends to change the HTML file assoications/icons upon startup - which I don't want :) Everything is running sweet in Firefox now, thanks guys  Radish? moloko
I love the new icon. I can't wait to try this out with the new feature. Im looking forward to the improved bookmarks.
SioPao
If you don't like the installer, there is a .reg file that adds a Firebird entry so that it will show up with installers such as Flash. I have it at home, but if someone wants it can look for it on Mozilla's site.
