mikejd1
question: In windows explorer, i have arrange by name, show in groups. for all folders. they are in alpabetical order in explorer, from A to Z. However, if i open a dialog window, or a save as....window, they are still sorted by Name, but backwards, from Z to A. Can someone help me with this? Thanks Mike Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/140101-open-save-as-dialog-window/ Share on other sites

John Veteran Posted February 11, 2004 Veteran Share Posted February 11, 2004 try running these in order: regsvr32 /u comdlg32.dll regsvr32 comdlg32.dll then log off. that might reset it, but no guarantees... edit: just found this in google. if the above does not work, try this: http://www.dougknox.com/xp/scripts_desc/xp_opensaveorder.htm Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/140101-open-save-as-dialog-window/#findComment-1721986 Share on other sites
Boeing 787
If explorer in List mode/detail mode is z to a then open/save will be z to a, open a explorer window and change it to detail mode and make sure it is listing everything from A to Z then make that the global default and it will change how open/save dialogs does it. This was a old problem I had as well. Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/140101-open-save-as-dialog-window/#findComment-1722026 Share on other sites
