configure Veteran Posted September 8, 2001 Veteran Share Posted September 8, 2001 While I was surfing around, I found this. It's a utility that allow you to have a virtual desktop, somewhat similar to what you get on KDE. It's a 30 days-evaluation and the full version is at $24.95 :D Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/1405-virtual-desktop/ Share on other sites
0 Quboid
I use Multidesk - it's small and fast, reliable (it's lost windows a couple of times, but it's got a recover option to bring them all back) and it's free. Tech Superior.com (click on products). It's fairly configurable, so you can set the number of desktops (up to 9, inculsive) and how it shows in the system tray (one icon showing current page or one icon for each page). It allows you to set the keyboard shortcuts to change desktop Ctrl+Left/right arrow for me as I'm used to X and Litestep (Explorer Window Manager alternative). The two problems are the previously mentioed window losing (but recoverable) and the windows are set out side by side - so you can't go down a window or anything like X and Litestep could - but I've got used to the change easily. 0 MulletRobZ
Wouldn't it cause the Windows Start Menu, no matter if it's Windows 9x or XP, to become wrecked? :D I just use Linux for that! 0 SuperJediMedia
Seeing how this is a old post... just like to remind you this: Microsoft's Windows XP powertoys will DO the similar thing, 4 screen though.
