dlf
I have a EVGA 2070 Super bought in early March last year, stock clock (I'm in Texas, I don't need more heat), When I booted into Titan quest Anniversary Edition and Spyro earlier today both screen turned off (my music was still playing) and some fans in the system ramped up very noticeable levels. Otherwise, I can browse, watch youtube videos just fine. Need to replace GPU thermal paste? Should also mention I'm running Linux mint 20.2 (Cinnamon). I believe late last night I was on reddit, trying to open more comments (1500 per page option near the top of a topic) and it happened. Mindovermaster Global Moderator Posted July 20, 2021 Global Moderator Share Posted July 20, 2021 (edited) If it is still under warranty, RMA it. EVGA is VERY generous about that. If it is out of warranty, STILL call them. Don't bother re-applying grease. Save that for a last resort. Edit: Newegg says it has a 3-year warranty. Get it RMA'd. dlf
Is it at all possible that some part of the (power supply?) can't supply enough power when trying to game now, although that'd be strange and sudden for it working since early last year. Also, could it be possible that some linux software (I wouldn't know what) could also cause the issue? Mindovermaster Global Moderator Posted July 21, 2021 Global Moderator Share Posted July 21, 2021 Have a spare PSU? Have another computer you can try the GFX card in? I would "highly" doubt it is the PSU's fault.
