Hey y’all. I have Windows 11 Preview installed on my laptop that I got last year. Looks awesome. I like the new blue login screen.

The strange thing is, my laptop have a Core i7 6500-U (think it’s Skylake). Is this supported? And another weird thing is, I turned on Insider via Settings last month and it initially barked up a msg “This PC is not supported.” Well, I checked it at 1pm earlier this afternoon (it’s 5:21 when I typed this) and it became available for me.

The requirements aren't enforced right now, and they're testing 7th-gen and working their way down, which I'm not sure exactly how far they'll go.  Not to mention the TPM 2.0 requirement.  So, in short, don't worry about it until it's released.

Yes, what @farmeunitsaid. Basically they relaxed the requirements, you can read about here https://www.neowin.net/news/how-to-download-and-install-windows-11-insider-builds-on-unsupported-hardware/ but the one thing that hasn't changed from that article is that your PC will never get the final Windows 11 officially because once it is released to the public in October or November, your PC will be rolled back to Windows 10 unless they change the minimum requirements.

On Intel that is minimum 8th gen CPUs.
