It's just really dated 😛 Like Death Race 2000 (from the same year).

Very much products of their '70s time. Not unlike a couple of '80s genre films I knew too well. "Cult Classics" so to speak, from the pre-CGI era. 😉

Pearl (2022) IMDB rating 7.0 | Stevie rating 8.0

I liked it, but I don't think it really added anything special to X, however the acting was really strong allround.

Hellraiser (2022) IMDB rating 6.0 | Stevie rating: 5.0

A "reimagining" of the 1987 cult classic. One of the major turn offs were the Cenobites who instead of hellish, were actually just "elegant" 😕 whoever reimagined it, forgot the "hell" part I think. There were a few other dumb things inserted in to the plot that I can't reveal as those would be spoilers. It is entertaining, but a chore to get through without being annoyed at parts of the movie. I think the IMDB rating is rather generous but it appears that the highest votes (7.0) all come from Gen Z.

I just rewatched Knives Out.  Even though I knew whodunit... I had forgotten the details.

Glass Onion is next on my list.

Glass Onion.   Just saw it an hour or so ago.  7/10.  The first movie was better for sure.

Just watched it as well... can't really say I cared for it.  Hated the ending (especially the breaking glass section)...it was predictable (just another cookie cutter mystery film).  Best part was Daniel Craig and Janelle Monae...and some of the comedy bits.

2/5

Knives Out was a whole lot better...

I enjoyed the 1987 original very much, saw it in a theater with a friend who was a special effects guy on several movies, and while he picked it apart, I was just freaked out watching it! Too many remakes and sequels these days. 🙄
