The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power

Watched the first episode and liked it for the most part. Still don't understand why screen writers in 2022 want to transform everything into a super hero. Unlike the anti-woke crowd I don't mind Galadriel fighting. I've read the Silmarillion about 30 years ago so i don't remember much of it but i do remember Galadriel traveling a lot and also being part of a battle of some sort (probably as a magician or leader?). I would expect someone travelling a lot in a world with danger to be at least athletic and be able to not be a nuisance. Also it think she's supposed to be tall? But why did they had to make the fight against the troll some sort of super hero fighting sequence. Even if you replace her by a man this fight makes absolutely no sense at all. I also don't mind the black Hobbits too much but the dark elf among white elves in a fantasy universe is kind of a no no. I understand the whole concept of white elves being good and black elves being bad is kind of very likely rooted in racism but it's part of the fantasy universe and i think there's a better way to make dark elves not the totally bad guys like R.A. Salvatore did with Drizzt. But including a dark elf in LOTR was kind of why? Not the end of the world i mean i liked 95% of the first episode just some minor annoyances that i hope wont be too present thru the show. Let's hope they wont turn this into super hero TV/Movies product number # 9994947 cause i can't stand those ###### anymore. I've had enough of things like Prey or The Grey Man.

Don't forget the beardless female dwarf.  It's an utterly incomprehensible change that appears to exist purely to irritate the fandom...  Her being queen is also rather off as, IIRC, Tolkien dwarves are a patriarchal society but the lack of beard is the main thing.  Female Dwarves have beards FFS! I don't think I've seen a single fantasy fandom where they DON'T!

It feels like they've literally just done stuff like this to annoy folks...

Other issues revolve around things such as Galadriel being a Sorceress, but in this she's a warrior for no real reason other than "we don't know how to have a badass magic user so we'll just give her a sword and armor instead". There's many other things that don't fit as well. Characters from the lore that don't behave or act correctly. I think Alex from the Angry Joe Show does a good job of summarizing some of his issues.

It's like watching Harry Potter, but Harry is played by Fabio, Hagrid is 5' tall, Dumbledor is actually Marcus Aurelius (the historical figure, not some legendary wizard), and the Weasley's are just a bunch of puppies. The fantasy content is interesting, but anyone who is invested in the lore beyond the movies will look at this and immediately know things are out of place.
