Psychonauts 2 is a third-person action-platformer from Double Fine Productions, now a part of Xbox Game Studios. It received stellar reviews on Xbox One and currently sits at a 91 on Metacritic. At the New York Game Awards 2022, the title won a number of accolades, including the Big Apple Award for Best Game of the Year and the Statue of Liberty Award for Best World.
Tim Schafer, the head of Double Fine, also won the Andrew Yoon Legend Award. Schafer has worked on a number of genre-defining titles like Brütal Legend. The New York Game Awards are considered very prestigious because they're selected by influential journalists and other members of the gaming industry.
It's great to see Schafer and his latest project being recognized. It'll be interesting to see what the team is working on next. The project is expected to be a PC and Xbox exclusive.
