It has it's own website because Mozilla did stop supporting the project BUT did spin it off as it's own subsidiary (aks MZLA Technologies Corporation) that runs independently but is still "owned" by Mozilla.

I suppose it's better than letting it die. The subsidiary makes it's own decisions, has it's own staff, and raises their own money.
