Bruinator
Hi, I am looking for a way to get the right click context back like in windows 10 as I updated to win 11. I see options for creating new keys/values and I prefer not to do it that way. Does anyone know of a way to do it from a script or a place i can safely download a script to do it? Dadwen
I think some of the 3rd party menu replacement programs have a way, not sure of any others. I just save the reg key fix as a .reg file using notepad and can quickly apply it myself. Quote Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\CLSID\{86ca1aa0-34aa-4e8b-a509-50c905bae2a2}\InprocServer32] @="" Expand Bruinator 1 Share Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/1416310-right-click-option-on-win-11/#findComment-598718874 Share on other sites

Expand it's the same and changing the registry really but not having to open regedit I just open notepad, copy and past that quote in a blank notepad file and save it as rightclick11.reg then you can double click on it or right click and merge it will apply it to the registry for you (will give a warning it will change the registry and ask if you really want to) *That way I don't have to go in and edit the registry every time I need to reapply it on a clean install. (picture since I don't think you can attach text files on here). **can't remember but believe it needs a reboot to kick in. Dadwen
send a pic of the file opened the spacing has to be right (right click and edit) and it should open in notepad. *on the quote one I think it put a space above the first line, but it should not be in the file, should look like the the picture, *the quote thing may be putting some extra spaces in it. **if copying and pasting this might work better just getting the bold part (when it does work it does take a reboot to kick in I just tested to make sure it was still working ok). Dadwen
yep missing the top part has to look just like what I have in the picture. first line has to have the Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 This site had a link near the middle to the reg file about the middle of the page (I downloaded and checked them, nothing else just the simple reg hax I use so not too easy to hide anything else in it , one to put it back to the new windows 11 type and one to make it like the 10 type so should be safe if you want to get it there *it's a zip file with the two reg files in them the 10 one and switch it back to 11 one) was under the title - Ready-to-use Registry Files https://winaero.com/how-to-enable-full-context-menus-in-windows-11/ Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/1416310-right-click-option-on-win-11/#findComment-598718906 Share on other sites
