Enough of Windows 11 and its sluggish performance. Back to Windows 10.

That's the problem. Every time I download the latest AMD driver from AMD's website, Windows 11 replaces it again with its own Microsoft version when it does Windows updates. I can't find any way of stopping it from doing that. It's annoying. Any suggestions?

Turn off WU driver updates. You can use Winaero Tweaker.

When people say that Windows 11 runs slower than Windows 10, what do they mean?  I have updated my Windows 10 machine to Windows 11 just for a couple of weeks to have another nose and I find it runs a bit smoother than Windows 10, maybe because the UI is so cut down. Shrinking and expanding windows is smoother, not sure if it is faster. Can you really tell?
Moving windows about is smoother on Windows 11 and so far file explorer have not crashed.

Software works the same on Windows 11 as it does on Windows 10

Computer specs.

Ryzen 7 1700

Radeon rx5700

47GB of ram

Corsair MP510 NVMe SSD as the boot drive.

Yes, the machine is not supported, but I updated it using Rufus to make the USB install.

Saying all the above, there are things don't like about Windows 11 and I will be going back to Windows 10 at the end of the week.

The problem for me is that Windows 11 should be faster than Win10 given I have a 12th gen processor and DDR5 memory, all the stuff that is meant to make Windows 11 pop (ie. thread director), but it isn't.

It is ugly (to me), I don't feel like I can customise it to my liking, there are extra clicks to do stuff I do every day.. It should be fantastic, but it isn't. If there is a speed difference, I don't notice, so I will just use what works for me.

What are the specs of your laptop? It sounds like you’re using a HDD. At least swapping to SSD will make a noticeable improvement.

yeah it is a hdd but my pc never did that on a hdd, it was atleast usable

and its not exactly old old its a gen 7 i7 that for a good solid 10minutes if its been not used for a while just gets thrashed
