CatnipOligarchy
It's that time again. Pitchers and catchers will begin reporting to camp in the next couple of days for most teams, and most teams rosters have taken shape. This has been one of, if not the most active offseason i can remember. While most of the activity has been centered in the AL East, teams all around the league have made big moves, Clemens coming out of retirement to play in houston with Petitte.. Pudge signing with the Tigers.. JD Drew coming to Atlanta.. and plenty of other moves... so.. as spring training is about to get under way, here you can make your predictions for 2004 ill start.. National League East Atlanta Braves Philadelphia Phillies Florida Marlins Montreal Expos New York Mets Central Chicago Cubs St. Louis Cardinals Houston Astros Pittsburgh Pirates Cincinnati Reds Milwaukee Brewers West San Francisco Giants San Diego Padres Arizona Diamondbacks Los Angeles Dodgers Colorado Rockies NL Wild Card - St. Louis Cardinals NL Champion - Atlanta Braves American League East Boston Red Sox Baltimore Orioles New York Yankees Toronto Blue Jays Tampa Bay Devil Rays Central Kansas City Royals Minnesota Twins Chicago White Sox Cleveland Indians Detroit Tigers West Seattle Mariners Anaheim Angels Oakland A's Texas Rangers AL Wild Card - Baltimore Orioles AL Champion - Boston Red Sox World Series - Atlanta over Boston in 7 My picks are unbiased of course  Things to look for in 04 * Maddux's 300th victory * Bonds passing Willie Mays on the home run list, possibly hitting 700th home run. * The Yankees all star team sucking. * Likely the final season for the Expos in Montreal. * New Stadiums in Philadelphia and San Diego * Fred McGriff's 500th home run * much more Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/142109-2004-mlb-predictions/ Share on other sites
mattmatik
Since I am also unbiased  I'll have to agree with everything you've put. I do think the A's will either win the West or get the Wild Card, though. I know they lost Tejada but somehow, someway, they've managed to keep coming up with homegrown talent. Gotta love the A's and Warriors - crappy payrolls, good talent, hardest damn working teams. lawtai
wow the braves? I think they lost way too much this past offseason to still be able to win first in their division. I'd say it's going to Philly instead. Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/142109-2004-mlb-predictions/#findComment-1749300 Share on other sites

I'd say it's going to Philly instead. yeah.. werent the braves supposed to not stand a chance last year? and the phillies were supposed to finally end the run... when youve won the division 12 times in a row, its hard to say they cant do it one more time. they keep proving the critics wrong. Until October that is.. :pinch: Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/142109-2004-mlb-predictions/#findComment-1749522 Share on other sites
