YouTube Shorts

We do a lot of our YT viewing on the desktop website and attempting to watch Shorts is a horrible experience. The video doesn't stop at the end, it just starts again which is a pain as YT keep recommending it unless we manage to stop it near the end.

As a result we simply stopped watching Shorts months ago.

 

The other day I stumbled across an extension called Youtube-shorts block and it forces Shorts to play as a traditional YT video. To date it has worked flawlessly and just wanted to pass on this information to anyone who hates watching Shorts on desktop as we did.

I don't like it at all. I hate vertical videos, not having controls, and the style of videos this attracts. I guess these are made for people with short attention spans who watch on their phones.

I agree, the fact that shorts automatically loop is a real PITA. And I also don't know why, after all these years, people still insist on filming in portrait rather than landscape!
