Sulphy
Hi all, I have a bit of an issue.. Whenever i try enable an XMP profile for the ram (either I or II) ... the board doesnt post, and it displays MEM Error on the oled panel. My rig is as follows: Motherboard: Rog Maximus Z690 Extereme (2103 bios version) CPU : Intel i9-12900K RAM : Kingston Fury Beast DDR 5 I am in no way a savvy overclocker, but when i run a benchmark (ie: User Bench) .... it comes up about enabling XMP ... I could do that fine on my previous rig (MSI Godlike z590 / i9-11900K / Corsair RGB ram) The manual isnt much help, and same for any documentation i can find on the RAM.... I would greatly appreciate if anyone out there that has similar setup, can offer any advice? Thank you very much! hellowalkman Reporter Posted November 12, 2022 Reporter Share Posted November 12, 2022 On 12/11/2022 at 14:50, Sulphy said: RAM : Kingston Fury Beast DDR 5 Can you look up the part number of your memory and check if it's on the Asus' QVL list? It probably is but still. https://rog.asus.com/motherboards/rog-maximus/rog-maximus-z690-extreme-model/helpdesk_qvl_memory/ Like Mindovermaster said, it looks like a pretty common issue with plenty of forum posts online. All you can do now is wait for a future BIOS update from Asus and hope they fix it. In the meantime, you can try manually inputing the values of the XMP profile in the BIOS to see if it works. If you are not sure about any value, keep it at Auto.
