Those Office deals on the front page...

Two licenses to Microsoft Office 2021 Professional for Windows for just $54.99 - Neowin

Why is this continually pushed here? There is nothing legitimate about this.

These "licenses" are surplus (or stolen) MSDN/VL*/MAK keys. They will most likely end up deactivated/reach activation limit and the user out $54 bucks.

This is exactly why TechNet keys got shutdown back in the day, and why MSDN prices are getting prohibitively more expensive and all over the place on pricing. Neowin shouldn't be encouraging this type of piracy. 

This isn't the first time I've seen this pushed here, and every article produces the same discussions in the comments about the numerous red flags these types of buys have.

It's hard to link to this site when such sketchy advertising is becoming more common place.

I inquired about this to my contact at StackCommerce who manage our storefront, and also work with the likes of CNN, TMZ, CNet and more when it came up with the previous coverage of these Office licenses for Windows and Mac.

Thanks for reaching out. Admittedly I am still learning the legality/partnership process with vendors and your question is valid. I reached out to one of our senior managers of category partnerships and he provided the following explanation/response:

*Certainly a common question. We are sourcing with Microsoft reseller partners and have vetted the partners thoroughly. We QA all the keys to ensure everything works and downloaded properly.

Hopefully this makes sense, if you are looking for a bit of an added response due to the nature of the comments that continue to appear I can attempt to make an introduction to one of our managers.
