Technique Posted December 21, 2022 Share Posted December 21, 2022 A mixture of their 'help' & my lack of knowledge is leading to hitting a wall on this. I used to be able to access it via file explorer in Windows 10 but since the update I can't do that any more. I click their guide which basically tells me the connection needs to be local yet mine is direct and I don't know how to make it local. WD tell me to "wait" but I told them it's been 45mins, how long am I to wait? They said to restart the PC. Convenient I thought as it'd remove me from the chat, but I restarted the PC yesterday and it didn't change it from direct to local either. It says connected locally on my mobile phone but they tell me I can't sort file explorer access that way. Technique Posted December 23, 2022 Author Share Posted December 23, 2022 Sorted the issue. Accessing on a desktop via a browser wouldn't work. In the end & by chance, I tried the WD icon in the system tray to see what the settings said in that. This opened it in file explorer.
