A themed macOS Monterey made possible by 'glow'  - Dock, folder and app icons and system UI can be changed

Wallpaper snagged from the web and recolored + banding. Full view I think is better.

My linux desktop journey started last month with Arch and Cinnamon and after some distro-hopping settled with Debian testing and Gnome. Been running this for the last few weeks.

Love this! (Gnome is my long time favourite). What icon theme are you using?

Not many being posted.

Must be a lot of people with pornographic or provocative desktops 😆

Used to be quite popular in the heyday of customizing visual styles or WindowBlinds, I think around XP-WinVista or even reaching to Win7 era. Alongside were the various linux rices too.

Nowadays, well not so much anymore for whatever reason.

I like a very clean desktop. Only the bare minimum is on the screen when not in use.

  • Monitor: Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 49" Ultrawide
  • Resolution: 5120x1440

Base Desktop:

JWST "Cosmic Cliffs" - Carina Nebula - NASA downscaled image - 2000x1158 (Windows couldn't handle the full resolution, 14575x8441, 124MB PNG as a wallpaper :)) - link

After Wallpaper Engine starts up:

Interstellar Gargantua - Enhanced - Animated video - 4K, 60fps, 130Mbps bit rate - link

What a difference three years make.

Both screenshots were taken on Dell XPS 15s - the 2020 one on an XPS 15 9560 (2017) the 2023 one on an XPS 15 9530 (2023).
