Steven P. Administrators Posted January 4, 2023 Administrators Share Posted January 4, 2023 I noticed that "blacks" were grey while I was watching an episode of Ghosts (2019) via Emby player, but the same episode looked absolutely fine in MPC-BE (which uses its own video renderer) so I did a bit of searching around and stumbled on this, anyway the trick is If video playback is too bright in Chrome or other apps, go to Nvidia Control Panel Adjust video color settings Select "With the NVIDIA settings" Ensure Dynamic Range is set to Full (Advanced) tab. Don't forget to press Apply before leaving the Nvidia Control Panel. Another trick in the same reddit thread requires changing the color profile in Chrome flags to HDR10, but that disables Hardware Acceleration, and probably doesn't fix the issue in other apps, so I don't recommend that. I don't know the trick for AMD cards, but it is probably a similar setting. goretsky and hellowalkman 1 1 Share Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/1424669-fix-for-video-playback-too-bright-in-chrome-web-browser-possibly-other-apps/ Share on other sites
