Amazon Shutting Down Amazon Smile

So I just got this email earlier informing me that Amazon Smile is shutting down on February 20. It's kind of sad it never really took off. I used it exclusively for years because I just edited all my bookmarks to point there, but most people are creatures of habit, and asking them to edit their URL was a bit much, and most people probably just used the app anyway. Honestly, I think they could have just rolled it into Amazon proper and given everybody the option to choose a charity, not just those of us who bothered to add smile to the address.

For those who don't know, Amazon Smile was a program where, if you went to smile(.)amazon(.)com instead of regular Amazon, you would get the option to choose a charity, and then at no extra cost to you, a portion of the profits from your purchases would get sent to that charity. The website was exactly the same, except the extra options about picking a charity. But you had to use the Smile address for purchases to qualify. Even if you used the site to pick a charity, if you made a purchase on the regular Amazon site it wouldn't qualify for the donation.

Anyway, I saved the email as a PDF as I'm not sure if there are any articles on the topic yet. Since PDF isn't listed as a supported file type and it would be weird to pan around and image that large, here's a link to view it on my personal Nextcloud. If this isn't allowed please let me know.
