Bruinator
I imaged my pc the other day. It took 2.5 hours. I used acronis true image on a flash drive and backed it up to external SSD. Here are stats of PC https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09B1DLRRS/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Why would it be taken so long? thx Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/1428914-image-of-pc/ Share on other sites
Nick H. Supervisor Posted May 9, 2023 Supervisor Share Posted May 9, 2023 Without knowing how Acronis makes the image, I wouldn't say that 2.5 hours is too long. I would guess that it had to take all the files from the drive, the compress them down into the image file. You might have to factor in the USB stick and the USB ports as well. How big was the original drive? How big is the image file now that it's complete? Also, see here: If Acronis isn't supported for Windows 10/11 anymore then it could be that the program encountered issues during the imaging process which would have held things up. +Warwagon 1 Share Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/1428914-image-of-pc/#findComment-598819189 Share on other sites

Speed of the USB port the external SSD was plugged into The amount of data being used on the drive you were cloning / imaging The speed of the SATA interface or the type of interface the boot drive is plugged into All of the above. Judging by the specs of the computer .. could be #1 and #2 or a combo of both. Was the drive plugged into a USB 2.0 or 3.0 port?
