Sir Topham Hatt
Are there any new TLDs that are cheap but good for personal email? I have a .me at the moment but wondering if thre is something else that I should look at? Brandon H Supervisor Posted May 23, 2023 Supervisor Share Posted May 23, 2023 I'm partial to no-ip.com myself. it utilizes ddns. there are free and paid options. pretty sure even the free tier supports using as an email domain. Main restriction on the free plan is you're limited to 3 domains and you need to renew every 30 days; you'll get an email each month for that though so it's a non-issue IMO Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/1429486-good-but-cheap-top-level-domain-for-personal-email/#findComment-598823034 Share on other sites
AGTDenton
I've been buying a few domains lately, the best place I've found to browse all the extensions is NameCheap. You can sort by categories such as; Cities, Media & Music, Personal, Financial, Social & Lifestyle to name but a few... j.r.l.
Look for short deleted domains in the .com/.net tlds. https://www.expireddomains.net/ ^ this is a nice website with powerful filters. For instance, I scored a 4 letter word .net for myself. Other than that, (name).dev is a nice one. Nothing beats a .com/.net, and once you've got one, there's no gotchas like "premium names" like you get on the new gTLDs. Sir Topham Hatt
Thanks all. I'll have a look at namecheap as that seems to be a good one. It's a shame my name with the last two letters as the TLD has been taken - and since 2007 so not likely to lapse registration. I guess the .me is okay as it's me!
